Night Latches

Night latches are fitted to the inside of an external door. They are often referred to as ‘Yale Locks’. A nightlatch is designed to be opened easily from the inside. Then, the only way to open the door from the outside is by using a key. Once the door is closed the latch locks automatically. It’s common to combine with a mortice deadlock for extra security. The most secure door latch/deadlock combination would be one that conforms to British Standard BS3621.
